Congrats on winning your first sectional since 1997!

If they make it to State, I'll be down at Lucas the 26th rooting for them!

We've got spirit! Yes We do!

(wrong kind of band?)

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

It isn't their band, it is their Football team.

I am sure the atmosphere in the town and school isn't anywhere near as jubilant as it would be if it were the band advancing though...

You had to wreck a perfectly nice thread with that shit, didn't you? Just couldn't resist.

Thanks, I guess.

That statement says so much on a personal and societal level.

Wasn't the original post laced with sarcasm anyway? =p First sectional since 1997!!!11

I admit Venen... I didn't read it that way. I thought until the second post that he was being nice. It's always fun when a team gets far when they haven't in a while, and I thought his congrats was honest.

Being the guy who gets all worked up about high school football (beyond merely cheering for your child/nephew/friend's kid) is much the same as being the clown shoe who wears the Pokemon costume to Comic Con.

Don't be that guy.

Off topic: As a side note, I've actually caught myself saying "clown shoe" a few times in regular conversation after seeing you say it once a while back. =O

Bad influence, I tell ya.

On topic: Seriously?

Lanys Award nominee? Or perhaps it was posted in good faith originally!

Actually I was being sincere. No sarcasm at all. If they make it I will be there cheering for them. They have a tough opponent this week in Rensselaer and I hope they do well.

My second was a jab at you for acting like sports don't matter as much to people as band/choir etc. Not at all towards the boys or the team.

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

I must admit, I'm more interested in how both schools are doing academically in this school-peen contest(I'd throw band/music in there with academics, but for the sake of sounding like I'm unbiased we'll say it's omitted!).

This is like saying my dad can beat up your dad while also claiming some responsibility for daddy's asskickery. It was all the high school coach and general atmosphere! Completely!

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

Why do you care how some random high school in the US is doing academically? Not saying I care about their football team either, but to pretend that you are "interested" in how they are doing on educating kids is pretty silly.

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

Key word "more" interested.

I know you don't give a fuck, but tough OT loss Friday but your team is young and they have a lot of talent returning next year.

Anyway, grats to your boys on a fine season.

What is wrong with you? I'm not like you, asshole; I'm happy when any program does well. I don't know where you got the idea that "I don't give a fuck." I was at that game, in fact, and I'm at just about every football game we have.

You have serious anger issues. You would have been better off having never posted this thread.

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

Heh, I know it's crazy to some people to "care" about something that you have no tangible connection with. This is our next generation. Even if I couldn't manage to give a damn, their collective whole will end up affecting my life eventually. Small things add up when they come in large quantities. I look at these schools with a little bit of wonderment and ask which one will produce the next Newton or Tesla.

Wow, listen up you over-sensitive dip shit. You are so twisted into hating me for anything I say you can't even comprehend what I am saying.

'I know you don't give a fuck' was meant as "I know you don't give a fuck about my condolences for your loss." Not as you don't give a fuck about your schools team. I guess I need to use maximum verbosity when ever i'm typing anything you may read.

And venen, which 2 schools are you talking about. I never brought up the school I coach at.

I think Khan does care about their football success.

Khan, if that's the way you meant it, then I accept that at face value. Given the context of the thread, however, perhaps you can see how your post, as submitted, could be misread.

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

Thanks, it was sincere. It was a tough loss, I was listening to the internet broadcast on the way back to school after our game was over.

I knew it would be a tough game as we scrimmaged Rensselaer at the St. Joe's college camp this past June.

Bremen has a lot of returning players next year, they should go as far if not farther in the tourney.

Both and all with regard to academic achievement. The spat between your school and Fribur's school precedes this thread, but I was referring to all schools(of which these individual schools happen to be included). I'm admittedly less excited about where the next Jerry Rice will pop out of. I just wish the same level of competitiveness and excitement was more readily applied between schools academically as compared to sports these days.

Academics doesn't get you ( or your dad ) 180,000 to sign, or that 14 million dollar signing bonus if your the next Jerry Rice, instead of the next S. Hawking

truth.

Post subject:  Re: Rave:Fribur's School

You have a much better chance of succeeding after school pursuing academic subjects than you do pursuing football. Thats not a cut on football...thats just simple statistics. How many people in the US are professional football players as compared to professions as a result of academic subjects?

That's pretty epic pricing. Next up: 1 dollar per ketchup packet, 50 cents for a napkin, and 2 bucks for the cardboard cupholder. 10 dollar service fee.

Nah. The local college arenas are actually really well priced as far as the vendors are concerned. It's the pro stadiums that charge usurious prices.

Merchandise sucks everywhere though.

Fribur's school is rolling this year, 13-0 with their first Regional Championship since 1997.

Good luck to the boys this week. Frib. FW - Bishop Luers is a tough team, but you guys can upset them.

Hope to see you at Lucas Oil!
