yeah theres a thread in there, but let this rave bring alil more attention to it, I left a post on the thread in there asking about how the server merges are affecting the game and exactly how theyre working, so lets get some discussion going, wheres the place to be>?

Playing Red Dead Redemption.

I've been playing X-Com: UFO Defense lately.

The last time I went back and played the biggest issues were the tiny player bases and the massive amounts of catchup you have to do. They are only partially addressing one of these.

Shame they wont let you xfer to or from Mayong, that would have been neat.

If you take 100 people who don't want to group up with each other, and add in another 200 people who don't want to group up with anyone... you now have 300 people who just want to do their own thing. Not sure how great that is.

A server merger will definitely introduce many new players to each other. However it is up to the players to get out of their comfort zone (i.e. only play with xyz people, only play with boxes, only solo with merc, etc) and meet new people. It is ultimately up to the players to decide how successful the merger is... and like the saying goes, you can only lead a horse to the river, you cannot make it drink. SOE is giving us the river, let's see if the players want to drink from it or not.

Personally I hope my guild can add another 12-18 active raid players to our roster so we can start doing some Underfoot content. No fun to consistently have 25-35 on raid nights. Might need to merge with a smaller guild, but at least it will allow us the opportunity to be successful from a raid perspective...
