To start my music tastes are varied but I tend to fall on the side of rock. Typically listening to Zepplin, Nirvana, RATM, etc which is what surprises me about Florence (ATM)
It's been years since I've heard something this fresh and individual. To start her voice is incredible, she's beyond the level of most other singers, able to use discord and pitch perfectly, I don't mean pitch perfect. I mean she can come off the centre of a note in such a way to improve the sound while not being technically correct. Absolutely stunning to listen to.
Influenced in my opinion by The Levellers, Portishead and James but with a different sound to all of them. They are the best thing to happen to the British music industry since Blur.
