I may not always agree with other posters here, but at least you guys respond in a manner that doesn't make me want to throw my monitors out the window. It's as if every other forum on the 'net is made up of socially-deficient adults and pre-teens who can't form coherent thoughts.

Plus, internet-speak is evolving so rapidly I can't keep up, and no one takes the time to actually type out a response that would make sense if read aloud. When you start seeing sentences like "fail thread is fail" and you have to read it three times to understand it... well, let's just say I feel a little less net-savvy every day.

I kind of have to agree. I might browse a forum for awhile, but I typically abandon them quickly, unless it's a guild forum of a game I play at that time.

But Lanys keeps me coming back, years after Lanys no longer exists.

The only other forums I read without headaches are at televisionwithoutpity.com. Their moderation is extremely strict in terms of grammar, complete sentences, lack of internetspeak, etc.

I'm in the same boat. These forums really have spoiled me. The only other forums I can moderately stand are the F13 forums, but they don't come close to Lanys.

Well, I'm no longer attracted to 18 year olds! I did when I was like 16/17. I'm only 24, but, that has stayed sort of constant in that I always seem feel attracted the most to people around my age or older than me. I guess I'll find out in my 30s if I'm still attracted to people in their mid 20s. ;P

It has nothing to do with the authority of it, as they could be a private. It may have something to do with the 'risk their lives' part of it, since the uniforms and the men in them found most attractive are people 'in service' (military, police, fire fighters, etc). I think it's more the crisp clean cut of the uniform as well as the type of guy in them that is found attractive. And as to that 'type', just look at any of the calendars marketed to women put out by the fire dept. Heheh
