They suck. They are crappy. Nothing you can do about them at all to prevent them. And even though Breva does work, it still lasts for several days. It looks ugly, they are large, they stand out. I seem to always get one once per winter season, and my turn has come.

Grrr.

So get a standby bottle of Valtrex or something for when you get a nasty cold sore. Stuff's supposed to work very well. I work in a pharmacy and see that regularly; folks getting a standby order for a coldsore breakout. It's expensive tho if i recall.

Isn't there a stat that like 70% of people have the cold sore virus, but only certain people show them? Never had one, sure hope I never do, they're friggin nasty.

They say that I think 90% of all people will eventually have one in their lifetime. Of those, 40% will have repeated cold sores throughout their lifetime.

They are not painful, they are not preventable, they just look ugly as heck. At least it only lasts a week, but it is quite embarassing that week when you see people just staring at you

I am fortunate in the sense that I typically only get one per year. I know someone who gets them several times during the year, and they encompass a much larger surface area than most. This person tends to seek medical attention for their cold sores- that seems a bit more serious...
