What did ya'll get (if anything)? And if you were crazy enough to hang outside of a store, where'd you go and how long did you wait?

I got a Wii charge station for $20, two Wii Nerf packs for $10 each and a Wii wireless guitar for $10. (All but the guitar is for my son - he broke my guitar from Guitar Hero :p)

I also got Bioshock for $20 for my brother-in-law. (My sister is getting him an xbox).

I went down to inkstop to get a 4.99 1gb mp3 player. They opened at 4am, I was there at 3:50 and the store was open, they were sold out, and I was pissed.

I only live about 2mins from the store, so no big deal.

I am only going out again to get a 2gb xD card for my stupid Olympus camera for 14.99 at office depot. I am betting I am going to get fucked there too.

I was wondering when amazon.com was going to have some black Friday-like deals. I guess I just had to wait until, well... black Friday

Was going to go to Target and get Iron Man movie... but amazon has it for six dollars less.

Was going to go to Best Buy for the TI Paper Trail CD... but amazon has it for a dollar less.

Was going to go to Circuit City to get Bioshock for my 360... but amazon has it for a nickel less (plus free shipping, no tax = win).

Was going to go to ..... well, you get the idea.

I am still debating on Dead Space at Target for 30 dollars. Other than that, everything else is taken care of with amazon. Plus amazon has an extra wireless controller for 29.95 which is a great deal, have not seen it lower anywhere else. But I can wait on that, for now I am going to go take a nap. Maybe I will go out later this morning and chuckle at everyone running around, we shall see...

I ended up going out to get some great deals for myself-

Dead Space 360 for 30 dollars (half off)

Went to JC Penny after realizing I still had a gift card from a return about six months ago. Found out it had 60 dollars on it. Got me two sweaters and a long sleeve knit shirt- total regular retail 158 +tax, I got those three for 71 w/tax. Used gift card, which means I basically got 158 dollars worth of clothes for 11 dollars cash out of pocket today.

Went to Gap because I found another gift card a few weeks ago that I got like 4 years ago and completely forgot bout it. One of those "way way back in the desk drawer" deals. Got 3 dress socks and 2 stretchable T-shirts for total 37, found out gift card was 25 which puts me cash out of pocket at 12 dollars.

I am quite happy with my purchases. And I will thank amazon.com over the next few weeks for their expected deals so I can buy for the family as well

walmart, toys r us, target, ect ect ect...
walmart was horribly handled in my area this year. Usually they are very smooth and organized, it was a cluster fuck, but I got what I wanted.

Toys r us was the smoothest out of em all, surprising.

All in all, fabulous day to people watch. If your that mad about being up and out that early, just stay in bed! (but nooo, they were in front of or behind me, lol)

He wasn't the only one who got trampled, just the only one who died from it. :/ You can't just turn around and help with 200 people. There's people in the back shoving forward and people in front. They took the doors off the hinges from surging forward. Seriously gotta throw punches and shit if you want to stop people and even then you might get bowled over.

picked up a new 42" plasma for the bedroom. 720p.

472$, not bad. haha. Vizio brand. Dunno who they are but whatever. good deal.

Looks great to me, and for 400 bones you can't beat that price for such a large TV. Besides, it's just a bedroom TV.

I worked at the Local Disney Store here in Albuquerque, with my Husband (he is the store manager)

Was crazy but very well controlled, I left athe store at 1pm got there around 6:30am and it wasnt crazy at all... Just only thing that was little crazy was we had these really facy dolls for $19.50 that were on sale for $8.00 and people were snagging them from our hands as we were restocking the display, but they were nicely snagging them :p

Only thing I bought today was a Nightmare Before Christmas Stocking, and a Mickey Mouse Chistmas Wreath for $11 (Reg $29.50)

Just to follow up on that article I linked, apparently even after the trampling, there were people refusing to leave when the police arrived.
"I've been here since 5am!", and that sort of garbage.

And then in a Toys R Us, two people die from a shooting after their girlfriends/wives began an argument, and the husbands/boyfriends pull out guns and shoot eachother.

Well, I think people expect the need to protect themselves during Black Friday. Of course, its pretty dumb to die over it, but this isn't the only year people got trampled or people got violent. Some lady got throat punched for an Xbox 360. They arrested the guy though. Some lady was getting stuff taken out of her cart.

I would arm myself wherever it was legal, Aara. Just because it's a certain kind of store does not mean I won't be accosted entering, shopping, or exiting.

Clearly things would've ended much worse had one or both not had guns.

Sounds good to me. Just pop off a shot towards the ceiling. I'm not fully convinced that would stop a full-on stampede, but it's better than nothing and if you flash your gun before they break in the door that could deter them a bit.

I'm just thinking maybe idiots like this will put a halt on the group-think mentality for a moment when they realize that THEIR life is in danger.
