Mind you this is totally my fault I just need to bitch.

I come out this morning to move my car before the ticket meter guys start there spree's, this is 7:45am they start at 8:00am there is always one at the Tower Condo I live at waiting for 8am to hit so she can ticket 4 to 8 cars parked overnight at meters.

Anyway I come out and she has already booted my car and put a notice that I need to appear in court for outstanding parking fines, Im pretty good at paying the fines so I figured I didnt have that many. Well I do and I need to pay them, so tomorrow going to go to hearing to see how much I need to pay and state my case that I live in a area where the closest paid parking structure is about 3 city blocks away.

Just hate parking here :p :mumum:

Technically you're both agreeing with Cak if you read three words in.

Tarot is correct, and I called a bout an hour ago... It seems someone reported that my car was parking illegally (I dont think it was, No where near a Hadicapp, Yellow Line, Red Line, or taking up two spots) but because they checked my license and saw outstandind tickets they put a boot on it.

Grr. :violent1:

First 3 weeks in San Francisco I was living 2 blocks off the North Beach strip with a friend. I rented a car for 4 days to run to some interviews and check out some apartment in the burbs... but after 2 nights -- of driving around for 2 hours tring to find a spot, and having to wake up at 6am to move it out of a construction space -- I took it back early and opted to rent the first plae I saw and snag the first job I interviewed for. Downtown sucks... great if you work near by, but otherwise... WTF 250 / month for a parking spot??

Fun Update, Metro Office wont take a payment plan, so I had to request hearing on all 87 counts of Parking Violations (over 5 years five from 2003) Because I cant pay that much money at once and to save my car from being impounded.

hah I get into messes so much.

how the f do you rack up 87 parking tickets? isn't there a point after like 10, 20, or even 50 that's like "Well, guess I should stop."

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode w/ the parking ticket SCOFFLAW.

Thats with paying about 50 or so that are not part of that 87 and this number is over 5 years of tickets. Also the place I live offers no parking and I am on about 4 City Owned Parking Lots Waiting lists that are nearest to the complex I live in which is downtown.

I can't imagine an insanely urban area that would require parking facilities like that in NM. If so, why not just forget about the car and walk? I mean if you live in an urban area that shouldn't be an issue...

True but one job is close by which I do walk, the other job is not close by and is only drivable. This urban area is only up and coming no one has the brains to build a parking structure where there are 4 Condo Complex's at.

I just went out to check on my car and I just noticed 3 other cars have been Booted. :/

With 87 unpaid violations for the past five years -- that's more than one every month -- you should be glad all they did was boot your car.

Wow, that's crazy. Are you living in one of the "bigger" cities like Sante Fe?

I had a similar problem when I was in college, there was like ZERO parking spots near campus, literally if one opened up it would be taken within 10 seconds, plus all these crazy signs up (No Parking Tues, Thurs, or Sat 8 AM - 4 PM, etc) meant people had to move their cars around constantly like musical chairs, or get a parking ticket because you didn't have time to move your car before you could get to class.....so I can sympathize (not with 87+ tickets though ;p).

My solution (don't know how practical it is for you) was to get a moped, so maybe that is something you can look into. Honestly with the amount of money you have spent or will spend on tickets, you could have gotten yourself a moped or motorcyle by now, and it would probably have solved a lot of your parking problems.

When I went to Purdue for a couple years before transfering they had the same problem with lack of spaces for people comming in off-campus. I would have been perfectly happy to take the bus, but my band practice would usually end after the last bus of the day to my stop had left.

I didn't do this every day, but occasionally when I couldn't find a spot for my permit level (C) I'd park in an (A) spot and take an old ticket I had and put it under the wipers. It didn't always work, but I'd say at least half the time I wouldn't get a new ticket.

87 tickets?

I have seen some cities do parking ticket roundups where they take a week and just concentrate on arresting people with outstanding tickets, its a great revenue grab for the city.

I remember once at an eviction party my friend put on at his apartment at the end of the year.

When the cops came, they were ready to arrest all of us for disturbing the peace, but said if we cleaned everything up, they would let us go home. You never seen a more energetic crowd of college kids cleaning up beer cans and shit.

My friend of course ended up going to jail anyways, they had an outstanding warrant on him for a single unpaid parking ticket.
