ABOUT FUCKING TIME! The Eagle has returned to Dallas radio. Over-the-air radio has sucked monkey balls since 97.1 changed formats and 93.3 went pussy-rock. A buddy of mine informed me that the Eagle is back on the air today and I haven't turned it off since. About damn time.

The first five songs on the relaunched Eagle:
Ozzy Osbourne - Flying High Again
Linkin Park - Bleed It Out
Metallica - Enter Sandman
AC/DC - For Those About To Rock
Three Days Grace - Never Too Late

I can see why they got rid of it in the first place, those are some horrible bands.

Yeah. Satellite radio (Sirius in particular, though I hope XM & Sirius merge) owns. I haven't turned on a regular radio in ages. I can get local news, weather, and traffic on Satellite. I can get NPR programming, huge selection of music without stupid DJs making dumb comments 10 seconds into the songs, etc. Commercial free music FTW.

krby, fuck the haters. It's the cool thing to be a bitch about anyone who starts a topic, apparently. If I heard that list of songs on a radio station in a row, I'd definitely listen.

the eagle was a joke for about the last 5 years it was around, almost entirely indistinguishable from 92.5 kzps. the only reason it's back is because 97.1 the beat wasn't getting the kind of audience in a market already saturated with hip-hop stations. i expect that as the eagle it's not going to do any better, as there are 93.3 the bone, 92.5 kzps and jack 100.3 which provide the same or superior product

The ticket is the best, sorry. Music? Yeah right I'll listen to a cd instead.

The best thing about music is finding new artists you like. How can you do that if you only listen to CDs? Radio is the perfect way for you to discover new stuff. That's why I love Satellite. They play the popular stuff on like 20 channels, then they have a TON of specialty channels that play deep cuts I'd normally NEVER otherwise hear.

I don't like to find new artists. Usually, I will just listen to the same song over and over for days and weeks at a time before switching it up. The longest I've listened to a single song exclusively is "Cartoon Heroes" by Aqua, for about 3 months. "I Know, I Know, I Know" by Tegan & Sara went for two and a half months after I first heard it on Veronica Mars, and I still work it in for a couple days in a row every once in awhile. In the car, I really like to listen to "A Quick One (While He's Away)" by The Who and "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" by The Rolling Stones.

The main problem I have with radio stations is that I am really picky about the music I like in a particular genre. I like The Who, The Stones, Bowie, Clapton, and The Kinks, but I can't stand Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and alot of other common classic rock music. The only stations I can even listen to are Blues and Classical, but I'm not a huge fan of either of those. My solution is to listen to Sports Talk radio since the local Dallas station is really great, they talk sports but they also get into lots of other topics without being phony shock-jock clones. Once the local guys go off at 7pm I just listen to a cd.

93.3 is classic rock but they throw in a lot of soft rock

kzps no longer exists, they are 92.5 Lonestar an fucked up hybrid of southern rock and country (I hate it)

Jack is cool sometimes, but I can only take so much loverboy (as in NONE)

I had been listening nearly 100% to the Ticket. It is good to turn on a music station that plays the music I like. I have had the Internet broadcast on all night tonight and it has been great.

Pandora sucks. Lol. It gives generic recommendations and it's full of mainstream stuff. Why would I want to search on my own, go download / buy a CD I may not like, etc.

The iPod changed the way I listen to music in the car. I get fewer new songs into my rotation than I used to (the radio was good for that), but it's so damn awesome to just have your whole music collection on random and like every single song that comes on. I still go days without hearing the same song played, so in that regard it's just as good as radio ever was.

get a car stereo that plays cds full of .mp3s .. my truck has one and it rocks.

radio is cool though, I listen to classic rock while I shower. sometimes i listen to the radio in the car.. it just feels more "alive" (even though its probably being run by robots)

My stereo plays MP3 cds, but I admit there are FEW albums that EVERY SINGLE SONG is good on, so I NEVER load my 80gig MP3 player (I have over 400gigs of mp3s anyhow... :() with all of it because I just don't listen to all of it enough. That's why I like radio... it plays the best songs (even if they're deep cuts) off albums, and then I get to go listen to more music that I like! =)
