I hate it when management uses "right?" to end a statement as if to get you to agree with them when they are wrong.

"This must be right, right?"

I also hate when people use ASAP. It is as if they assume that we are not already working as hard as possible to get you what you need. If it is friggin urgent let me know that you need it in an hour, before the end of the day, whatever. ASAP might be next friggin year.

For gaming:

"Posting in a legendary thread."
"Quoted for truth."

For the real world:
"That's a true fact." (yes, and that's a short midget)
"If I could be honest here..." (no, lie to us, jackass)
"... basically..." (which means 'you see, uh.. I guess, uh... I don't know what I am talking about')

I positively hate it when people say "hello?" trying to figure out if you're still there or not.

Happens in instant messages at work all the time, as well as when people call me. I said I was checking something now fuck off and let me check it!

"It is what it is" -- "What can you say?"

Here's some real kickers:

"YOU DIDN'T PULL OUT?" and "I'm pregnant"

(j/k, those last two are for laughs.)

Fixin', I hate that word.

"We need you to join a meet me line." Translation - We have no idea what the problem is, but someone mentioned the word network.

"I am done"

Whenever someone at work tells me they are done with a task, they always mean something different. Often people need to document or test what they did, so being "done" doesnt mean they are ready to hand it off to anyone, and they arent freaking DONE... ok venting... breathing... ok :)

I was only kidding (or related phrases). If you have to tell me that it was a joke, you failed. Adding that phrase onto the end of a hurtful statement does not change the fact that you are an ass.

No offense but... If you are beginning a sentence with this phrase, you already know that it will cause offense and have chosen to say it anyway. Have some balls and eat the person's displeasure.

You don't understand (only in certain situations, though) I understand perfectly, I happen to disagree and now think that you're a closed-minded asshole.

People who insist on using over-the-top grammar and vocabulary in every day conversations.

"The voracity of my appetite knows no bounds."

Really? Because I'm pretty sure I'm just hungry. Fucker.

Chey, I sometimes do that in everyday language, and people sometimes give me a hard time for it.

But whether you believe me or not, I never do it deliberately to look superior-- it just happens. Maybe I should have read less when I was a child?

"Make it a great day!"

Derived from a fucking meaningless platitude, subverted by motivational speakers everywhere...I want my bullshit greetings/smalltalk given to me on a platter like it should be, I don't want you telling me I have to work for it.

Ranks right up there with "Never forget...", insinuating that the speaker, of course, would not forget, but he's quite worried that YOU (along with most everyone else) will forget and if he didn't mention this, it would indeed be forgotten. Sanctimonius bullshit.

This isn't a statement so much as it is just plain annoying.

People calling the NBA player "Ming Yao" "Yao Ming"

I mean, the back of his jersey says "Yao" so call him fucking "Ming Yao"

I don't give a shit about eastern naming practices (his family name is Yao, which is said first in China / the east) because we're in America.

If it says "Yao" on his jersey then call him "Ming Yao" -- because we don't call Kobe "Bryant Kobe" or "Nash Steve" etc.

Fucking retarded.

You continue to amaze me. Just call him Yao. Leave off the Ming since it confuses you so much.

Another thing that annoys me is when people quote other people on the boards in their sigs, like Khan does. It's not as bad here, since we all sort of "know" each other, and we're a tight community, but it's really annoying on the WoW boards when someone makes his sig something "clever" that someone said on his server, then uses that same sig when posting in the general section, where literally millions can see it.

OMG HAHA STABSJOO SOUNDS SO WITTY I MUST TRANSFER SO I CAN INTERACT WITH HIM!!

It's not confusing... I understand perfectly the whole naming order scheme (big anime / manga fan + a history major, learned a lot about middle eastern naming conventions) but it's still annoying hearing them call him by a backwards name. Everytime I hear it I'm like "McGrady Tracy hits the 3 to win the game!!!"

Could you think of any two fucking dumber words?

Bass. if it's a fish or a name, it's fine. If it has to do with music it some dumb french crap that you have to pronounce completely differently than it's written. There is already an established pronunciation, and every instance of -ass in the English language is pronounced that way; why then is there a need to pronounce it differently for music?

HATE BASS>.

#2: any latin phrases and words that aren't used for the purpose of scientific classification. Also, any use of Jewish words in mainstream media. I never even knew a jew before in my life, but because they run the media then they put their words all over the place. I don't know what they mean, but I don't care since I can articulate my thoughts well in standard English.
