And I think the neighbor's dog barking is annoying in the morning...

Monkeys kill Delhi deputy mayor

Essentially a shitload of wild monkeys attacked this guy on his balcony, and he fell ... and died. They have bad monkey problems but religious groups there are not only opposed to culling the monkeys, but also feed them (attracting more roving bands of wild monkeys).

I just can't imagine this problem in the United States. First time a monkey even bit a child, people would start killing them.

A lot of them die every year while climbing on powerlines.

Ok, this line from the article made me lol:

One approach has been to train bands of larger, more ferocious langur monkeys to go after the smaller groups of Rhesus macaques.

This is all part of a wider monkey conspiracy to enslave humanity. Colbert is keeping an eye on law breaking monkeys.

Closest in the US would be large deer populations close to urban areas (lyme disease via ticks). Whenever aggressive tactics are used to control the populations, many groups get riled up (when in essence they are no better then a rat infestation...just cuter).

That made me laugh too...even if that works then you have the problem of being infested with bigger, meaner monkeys.

A monkey uprising at the same time were discussing Charlton Heston? A coincidence?

Also were way overdue for the plague that kills off all the cats/dogs. Were never going to get this thing going.

The city has also employed monkey catchers to round them up so they can be moved to forests.
Isn't Monkey Catcher a class from the upcoming Warhammer mmo?

And then you have chronic wasting disease, which is basically mad cow disease for deer. Which has been *VERY* aggressively attacked in every sense of the word. The only thing disallowing the thinning of animal populations causes is starvation and disease, it happens over and over again. With no natural predators to hunt them deer can very easily get out of control to the point where they're dying because there are too many.

Last year, the Delhi Metro train service hired a larger langur monkey to frighten off smaller creatures after a monkey boarded a train and scared passengers by scowling at them for three stops.

There is so much comedy gold here.
