Dammit, looks like Phil Spector might be getting off the hook...

Spector jury says it's deadlocked

This is somewhat reminiscent of OJ's murder trial. You have someone who is accused of murder, there's plenty of evidence and a near-admission of guilt, and they get off scott free.

Well really, what's he gonna do, kill his wife -again-? He's hardly a public danger. So he offed the old bitch, what's it matter, she probably wasn't putting out anyway.

If you're refering to Specter, the woman he murdered wasn't his wife. Nor was it the first time he threatened a woman with a gun when she tried to leave.

Silly Canadians. :skewl:

He looks insane. That doesn't mean that he is guilty.

Except that he is guilty. And he didn't look like that during the trial, that was just after he was charged.

The two big questions being repeated throughout the whole trial have been "Why would he murder a woman he'd just met?" and "Why would a woman who barely knew him kill herself, in his house, with his gun?"

Personally, I believe he did kill her and is guilty...but after all the bullshit with O.J. I don't really care too much what he finally gets because he'll just appeal 100x if he's found guilty of ANY charge until he's acquitted.

Wasn't she shot through the roof of her mouth but not her chin so the gun would have to be in her mouth? It's rather curious that he was able to shoot her through the roof of the mouth in a manner that seems to suggest suicide without her resisting or just running. It would be impossible to get that shot without tying her down first and even then if she was resisting there would likely be marks from struggling against rope or residue from tape. Was there any sign of a struggle at all? How long was she dead before the police arrived?

Looking through the evidence it's still not clear. There were 12 guns in the house so its not impossible she found one. The gun that was used would put a lot of residue into the air and onto the hand/s of whoever used it. They said no residue was found on his hands but he could have washed them, did they swab all the sinks? Was there any residue on her hands? They don't even mention if finger prints were found on the gun and trigger, if there weren't someone wiped it down. There was blood on his shirt but not very much, an expert said the amount would put him within three feet of her when she died. He never took the stand and explained why he was overheard saying he thought he killed her. Maybe she was drunk, found a gun, got suicidal, he tried to stop her and the gun went off. I'm not saying there isn't evidence that points to him just that there is also evidence that points to a suicide then him freaking out and trying to clean it up.

Dr. Vincent Di Maio, a retired Texas medical examiner hired by Spector to review the 2003 death of Lana Clarkson, told jurors at the pop music legend's trial that blood and gunshot residue on her hands as well as the location of the wound convinced him the shooting was self-inflicted.

"There is no objective scientific evidence that anyone else held the gun. Everything else is speculative," Di Maio said.

Your ellipsis always tend to contain one too many punctuation marks and spaces between them, which is an improper usage of said punctuation, sir.

Someone please wake me up for the next celebrity trial in a couple weeks. I'm sure it will be equally exciting.

I hadn't heard of him before this, but he invented the sound room the Beatles used which gave them a distinctive 'sound' apparently. So he's extremely well known to people in the music industry as a result, and rich to boot.

I could probably name them all too, but I don't like their music, so naming a song by them wouldn't be real easy for me either.
