On close examination of the first image, the major (and obvious) thing you can see is the white figure between the heads of the two girls. I cut it out and zoomed it in here



As I mentioned before, both Voltron and Godzilla are unlikely as Voltron is already in development by another studio (with another writer, the guy who is also writing the new Masters of the Universe movie) and Godzilla has been retired for the time being.

As for the other viral sites, JJ Abrams (the producer behind the project) sent a message to Harry Knowles at "Ain't it cool news" stating that http://www.1-18-08.com/ is the official site for the project, and refuted claims that "other" viral sites (such as the Ethan Haas sites) are also part of their marketing campaign.

Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we’re doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn’t kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat’s about what’s online? So as you can imagine, we’re focusing mostly on THAT. For what it’s worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. There are even those who are going as far to say that the date isn't a date at all, but a biblical reference (and NO I don't want to start another biblical debate, just stating the reference)...

Revelations 1:18 - "I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades."

Revelations 18:8 - "Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her."

I think thats taking theory a tad too far myself as I don't see anything in the trailer that would indicate anything biblical (except maybe the Apocalypse), but if it were a bible reference I doubt the full 01-18-08 would be there...

I'm still hoping for a Cthulhu movie (or at least a Lovecraft based movie) that doesn't suck as bad as The Necronomicon or Dagon.

I zoomed to 1600% on the eyes and it looks like there is something there, I just can't tell what.

However, closer examination of the second picture...look to the face on the far right. There is no body attached to the head as you can clearly see the brick wall where the body should be. I watched the trailer again and I was unable to see any person with that face...creepy.

In the second photo the sign in the background says "we'll miss" i'm going to just assume the end is cut off and its supposed to say we'll miss you. The other odd thing is the letters are formed by what look like pictures. Anyone zoomed on those yet?

Yeah, it's a going away party for someone that is taking place at midnight on the day the event happens. Which is why (in the trailer at least) the entire event is filmed via camcorder...they are recording the goodbye party.

I'm amazed this kind of teasing bullshit over nothing actually suceeds in drumming up publicity, but as this thread shows it obviously does. J.J. Abrams went to my school and I still think he's a hack.

I'm not. Basic human truth: People love a mystery. The less you tell them, the more they fill in themselves and make it something larger than what it actually is. Even the Simpsons made fun of it with the one episode about some guy replacing Krusty but he had a big marketing campaign where he just had billboards with his name.

If you take the 4th image with the army guy and sharpen it a lot there seems to be something in the army guy's torso/arm area. One thing that looks like a bunny, then a few other things I cant make out.

You can grab the pics and flip them over by shaking your mouse back and forth quickly. A couple of them have stuff on the back, nothing terribly interesting though.
