Neesha - that fight was within the last month - I can't find the exact date - they crashed the zone 3-4 times. I'll see if I can find the actual battle report for it.

May 17, 2009 - for the large fight in E-7 - over 1400 ships in one system and an 8 hour fight involving several large alliances (2 meta-alliances fighting basically).

You'll get salvaging soon if you haven't already. I'm still running my destroyer on L2 missions with 6 125 mm rails and 2 salvagers. I find this to be my ideal for me as I don't like having to come back with a salvage boat, I can do it on the fly.

I had that happen to me.. finally figured out that I had not actually accepted the mission, even though it was showing up in my journal. Make sure it's accepted and not just offered.

Was there an acceleration gate? you have to use those sometimes - that has also tripped me up.

My take on acceleration gates are that they operate like instances. propel you to a little private area that is mission specific.

Yeah, they send you to an area of space within the system. Other folks can scan probe to find you. Can make a decent profit snooping out level 4 mission runners and ninja salvaging their wrecks.

If you finish a mission today - and do not turn it in - the mission spawn goes away during downtime - regardless of if you have the required loot from the mission to turn in. You can petition it and sometimes the gm will help - also sometimes you can find the right material on the market to complete the mission - but it doesnt always work due to some of the missions "completing" when the item is looted in the mission room.

A Basic Guide to Eve Economics

Useful Skills
Trade - increase the amount of sell orders by 4/level (advanced skill is Retail 8/level)
Contracting - allows you to have more then 1 outstanding contract at a time 4/level
Broker Relations - reduces the cost of setting up market orders by 5%/level
Procurement - buying items remotely (ie you don't have to be at the station to set up the buy order)
Marketing - selling items remotely
The other skills in the retail subheading are useful if you get into fulltime trading

Trade/Regional Hubs
Jita - Queen of Hubs
Rens, Dodixie, Amarr, Ourseleart, Hek (these are just some that I know of personally)

Using the Market
The market price averages buy and sell orders - so if there is a sell order for 3,000,000 and a buy order for 3,000 - it will say the average price is 1,500,000 - if there is a sell order for 1 at 3,000,000 and 1,000,000 at 1 isk - it will say the average price is probably 1.5 isk or something else ridiculous.

If you want to buy something and take a chance at getting a better price - you can put up a buy order at 75% of market and have a decent chance of someone selling you one but it's not guaranteed.

If you are looking to sell items and it's not time dependant - you'll get full market price (average of sell orders in the area) more then likely if you put it up for that price.

If there are no items of what you are selling for sale at where you are (but they are for sale 1-4 jumps away) you can sometimes get slightly higher for the item as some people don't want to jump to get it - they want it now.

I put minerals up in manufacturing systems for slightly over regional average for 3 months - for example Tritanium usually sells at around 4 isk a unit - I put it up for 4.50 at the manufacturing system for those people that are just short of what they need to finish a build - I post it for 90 days - it usually sells out in under 30. There are people that put tritanium up in the same system at 10 isk/unit - I have no idea if they sell out or not - personally I'll go haul the ore in myself before I pay a ridiculous markup.

If you know you're going to be needing an item in the future - youc an put a buy order up with the price you're willing to pay (the money comes out of your account into escrow when the order is placed). People that need/want a fast sale - will sell at a reduced price and both sides win.

Scams to Avoid
Scammin is legal in Eve - it's a buyer beware market

Buy orders put up at way under average price - the tritanium for .1 isk, the rifter for 5,000 isk etc

The Fast Sale in Local
Someone will link a contract in local with an incredible deal (or even just a good one) - an item that sells for 1,000,000 for 100,000 for example. Read the details for the contract (click on link - right click, view contract) and the actual price will be 999,999,999.99 or 999,999.99 - once you bought the contract you are out of luck.

The wrong item sale
Someone will link a contract in local with a good price - but the item actually sold is something different or the description of the item (written by seller) doesn't match the details of the contract - ALWAYS view the details before you buy

The Good Deal in a bad place
The Contract is located either in a pirate system, or through low-sec where the seller has a warp bubble or ambush set up to pick you up on either the way out (normally) or the way back.

I'd say that depends on the ship. Have you checked out the ship browser thing on Evemon? You can look at some successful loadouts (click on the "Battleclinic loadouts" link) from Battleclinic and see what they use to get an idea.

6 Modal Light Eelctron Particle Accelerators (or 6 75mm Prototype I Guass Guns)
1 Small Tractor Beam
1 Salvager

Mid Slots
1 Small C5-L Emergency Shield Overload
2 Invulnerability Field 1
1 Cold-Gas 1 Arcject Thrusters

Low Slot
1 F84 Local Damage Control System

this gives you 4339 effective HP, Cap for 22 second (everything running)
Targeting to 36k, 2 targets at a time, Turret DPS of 72, Volley of 174 with current skills.
I'll try to post the evefit picture - but I'm challenged at posting graphics - will edit it in as soon as I figure it out.


Recommended skills for Van -

Shield Upgrades I (add Small Shield Extender to the build)
Energy Grid Upgrades I (Add a capacitor booster to the build), look at changing low slot to shield power relay to increase cap regen.
engineering I (thought you had this?)
Weapons Upgrades I (can add weapon upgrades for increased damage)

change the Shield Resistance amplifier out with specific types - or replace with a second Invulnerability field as you prefer.

As an aside, Vana.. Neesha can bring the heat if you are having a problem in a mission. heh

That may have sealed the deal actually. Fleet work was pretty damn cool.

At least you can Warp to 0 them now. I think when I first played I had to bookmark all the gates so you didn't have to close distance before jumping.

I think the changes they made to the new player experience (or whatever it is called) have made the game more enjoyable for new players. The tutorial is supposedly much better than what they used to pass off as a tutorial.

Same here, tried a demo a year ago or so. The tutorial is very good. I still wonder what the point of all this is. I need to sub for a month or two and join a pvp corp to see if I like it.

I'm currently parked in a Raven in Jita while I train up my relevant skills so I can actually do a level 4 quickly, rather than it taking 30 minutes in my Drake :P

You could grab whoever else is on - and run Level 4's together - makes them go by much faster (and usually safer)
