Yeah, but the free version is no good.

Once you buy all the expansions and pay for your subscription, it's a damn fine time waster.

After its rocky start, AO shaped up to be a good game. Too bad I don't have the time for it anymore, had a 100ish Fixer. :P

It will always be fun to me.

AO turns out to be shit to start, but blossoms into an awesome MMO experience, yet nobody was there to witness it.

Age of Conan goes from the same beautiful flower, and wilts to shit again, with nobody there to watch it happen.

Funcom basically applied everything they learned from AO, and ran Age of Conan backward.

P.S.

Warhammer is the white whale. And thats no shit. I've got two months till a full season 2 pvp geared enhancement shaman with 15k plus gold and epic riding hits the market for mad lich king cash out.

NDA, but reading half the shit out there, and knowing that it works should make anybody shit their pants with joy.

It will not be another Age of Conan fiasco, where it starts off kickass and bends you over halfway through.

That's good to hear... I like RvR. If the pvp is actually present in the game, i'll be happy. Age of Conan was like someone busting my balloon as a kid. For some reason, I actually got caught up in the hype of that game.

Hope it doesn't end up another disappointment. Lots of stuff seems good when it's new, I've fallen into that trap more than once myself (DAMN YOU SWG).

The biggest difference between Warhammer and Age of Conan is War is up front with you from the instant you log in what it's all about.

Conan heaped piles and piles of cool stuff up front at the beginning, all the time hiding a giant lump of shit that nobody could really see, only smell slightly.

None of the following violates NDA.

--If you love PvP, you will love Warhammer.
--If you want to PvP within 1 min of logging in, you will love Warhammer.
--If you want rewarding PvP that isn't shit boring, play anything but World of Warcraft, And you'll probably love Warhammer.
--If you want to raid NPC dungeons, play World of Warcraft.
--If you want your character to look unique, play World of Warcraft till your tier armor becomes a welfare epic suit. The first person that bitches about all players looking similar in the Warhammer universe needs fucking punched in the scrote and/or vulva.

So very sex. NOTE: This is not my screenshot. I found it via Google. The middle orc is, or rather was, a Choppa. they are no longer in game. Left is a Black Orc, right is a Gobb Shaman.
--If loot drives you and you consider that character progression, play world of warcraft but don't let them fool you. They have said that gear does not drive Warhammer but they are dead wrong. Gear is EVERYTHING in any mmorpg.
--If you loved DAoC, you will love warhammer.
--If you have more than 2 gig of ram, you will be fine in a siege in Warhammer.
--If you have two gig of ram, you can still siege in Warhammer.
--If you like BOILING FUCKING OIL, you will LOVE Warhammer.

Well, we'll see.

It's VERY hard to take pre-release hype seriously, everyone loves a new experience.

That's actually a slightly disappointing review for me. While I do PVP sometimes, I really play MMORPGs for the cooperative PVE aspect more than anything. A pvp focused game is going to lose my interest quickly. At least tell me it's not another Guild Wars.

It'll have plenty of PvE, count on that.

I'm not even in beta, I don't follow the development all that closely, so how do I know that?

Because there developers know that "PvP Games" just aren't where the bucks are anymore. They know they should pay some lip-service to the PvP crowd and whatnot, but they know that ultimately the real money is just in the PvE, progression, advancement, etc category. And that pissing those players off by letting PvPers interfere with their play is a sure way to lose dollars.

So yeah, they might be hyping up the PvP and such, but I can guarantee (And save this quote to throw at me later if you wish.) that it won't be a "PvP game" any more than Alterac Valley makes WoW a "PvP game." Even if it starts off with a heavy PvP focus, you can be sure that it'll be nerfed down the road.

I was in WH beta since the "second coming."

It isn't terribly amusing, combat is too slow - Graphically its...WoW, but an off-brand WoW.

I think the PVP has potential, would be much more so if combat wasn't on par with EQ1's for enjoyment.

The current phase is testing city capturing and all that, so it should be interesting.

As far as AO, you can screw around and waste a lot of time with a Froob account. If the deals I get e-mails about are still going then they'll probably give you all the expansions except the new one for free as long as you pay for a subscription. Which I believe is $7.95, but that might have changed since I saw it last.
