It's not a hoax, they are a gaming company based on what I could dig up (out of Sweden) but it hasn't been in development that long. There's def. some lies out there.

One thing said they'd been around 11 years, another said it was a new company. You said it was in development since 2002, but they only recently bought the Unreal3 license (which the game is being developed with). I don't think the company has even been around since 2002.

Vaporware is likely. Or release of something extremely different than what you're seeing in their promo-movies. They're probably whoring around for some cash infusion and a distributor.

Having read a little bit about this game, it has too many cool ideas, so it's definitely vaporware.

The MMORPG scene looks so bleak at the moment for anything upcoming =/ It's a sad state of affairs.

One would have hoped WoW would've encouraged more innovation to challenge it, but instead competing developers allowed themselves to be completely trampled by taking up the WoW model and giving it many more flaws than WoW itself.

It's actually probably part developer fault, and part supercasual gamer population fault. There won't be any signs of innovation for another couple years at least until more people finally tire of the mediocre Joe Casual formula.

The easily amused will be the last to falter!

Their feature descriptions are purposefully misleading. Legendary encounters that are pass/fail one chance only and have a last effect on the game world. Sounds like a typical GM event to me.

Skills that you have to practice instead of leveling up? That doesn't even make sense. Every game makes you practice skills to level them up.

Looks like a typical mmo built on an fps engine. Yay you can swing at air now. You know you could hold down shift in diablo to swing at air, not exactly innovative.

"Skill system" means skill-based progression with no leveling. Check UO for an example of this that was implemented pretty well. You pick and choose which skills you want to be proficient at - for example, swordsmanship or being able to equip better armor, and you have a set limit as to how many skills you can have. For example you couldn't be an incredibly uber tank/mage without at least sacrificing a few things. Skills improved stats as well if I recall correctly.

The Deva system also sounds particularly intriguing.

Not saying it's perfect by any means, there are a great many ideas/concepts that this game does not suggest it is using anyway. On the other hand it's not embracing the exact same clone MMORPG model, either.

Clearly the world is blind to Warcraft's mediocrity!

Yea, that pretty much sums it up.

I hesitate to use a McDonald's analogy because it's so overused, but it fits so perfectly. It's so popular, clearly the world is blind to its mediocrity!

As noted, it appeals to the masses. I cannot blame them for trying to make money, and this is precisely how to do it. That also means necessary shortcomings at both the high end and low end edges of the market which they do not specifically target.

PVP is so fucking gay. "Skill actually matters..." lol IRL.

I hope they put in a lot of PVE content because that game looked pretty rad.

Not I. I don't get to get into beta until Block D (preordered the game).

The feature set alone intrigued me enough that I was willing to fork up the cash at the chance it won't suck.

The feature set is equal to penis? Apparently I'm slow, because I don't get it.
