Well the real dral was right and the guy that impersonated him is a total tool. So we left IF which was sad as there was alot of dedicated players and a good making of a guild but no leadership aside from the 1 moron who was extremely selfish and lied non stop.

So that being said more then likely will be forming up a guild tomorrow. We have about 10 lanys folk on there forsure that will be in it plus some stranglers that have been giving me tells.

Right now me, hhug and fin are all 23+ and should be able to help gear up some near people (the right gear early definitely makes lvl'n the first 15 or so go fast) and provide the hot spots that we are aware of. The world is HUGE and the 2 keys are A) knowing where to go and B) having good groups to go there with.

The guild will be initially there for the lvl'n purpose as there is alot of awesome dung's etc to explore and very good quests out there to do and its always easier with guildies. As we progress I will get it shaped into a more raid oriented guild so when raid content is finally in fully and we are approaching max lvl we will be ready to rock.

So if you just started anew on a server with a friend or 2, feel free to consider coming over here instead. While I run a some what strict raiding crew no long term members will ever be removed etc for not having much raiding attendance (will effect who gets to come on limited raid sizes though).

Give me a hollar ingame, and i will get you tagged once I have it formed which prob might not be to friday actually. But if you are concerned about being back a few lvls don't sweat it, we got hhug 13-20 in one day and fin 13-18 i belive at a few key spots. Its worth starting over now and being with people you know and can have fun with opposed to starting from ground zero.

If you are undecided what to play here are a few suggestions from my experience up to this point. Part of these are people i can see we will need in raids due to lack of #'s or good abilities, and part are based off being able to do awesome things in nonconvential groups which you do alot of in VG

Sorc: my fav, with the right healing i can easily do probably 2 X the damage of almost any class in certain situations. Also the AE abilities paired up with another ae'r or a good puller that can heal is just awesome fun even though not the greatest exp you would think it would be. Going to be top dps's in shorter raid fights hands down.

War/DK/Pali: Tanks are a rarity in this game....very few people play them for whatever reason. They have alot of fun abilities, DK i would say has some of the best abilities to allow you to play out side the box (think ral's SK from eq1). If you want to be a class high in demand this is probably the number 1 class. Plus the gear makes a HUGE difference opposed to some classes that gain very little.

Bard: Bards can do it all between mez, charm run song etc. Awesome class capble of doing alot of outside the box thinking. Not to heavily populated either but might become more popular once every 1 knows what they can do. Also have a great unique way of creating songs.

Psi's......there mez and charm makes them extremely valuable for trying to kill higher lvl 4-5 dot mobs. Using a charmed mob to tank the higher mobs is great and sometimes the only way to beat a mob unless you are its level (we killed one today that could kill me in 1-2 hits). Very good buffs and decent dps as well.


All healers are great, ive played 2 of the 4. All are extremely fun and have good sources of dps when needed and good ways to regen mana.


So to sum it up play what you want but if you are coming looking for group wanted class and something i forsee us needing bad then go tank, psi or sorc.

Ya i know, unfornately didn't forsee the issues with the guild we were in heh.

But in all reality one/2 days of playing the long scheme things isn't going make much difference if you are over there without many friends or a guild etc.

Understandable though, good luck on woefeather, if something changes gimme a holla, doesn't take to long to run some one up to 20 with some gear and ae groups.

An update. The guild name is Exiled. We have some lanys folks on there in the form of Mateo ,Gipp , Broke ,Golliwog ,Azzigoth, Turg,turb,finlainea,uumdaien,Myself. Looking at getting a few ppl from Malus Dei guild from EQ and Ayonae Server. Lesser is also playing on the server still need to track him down. Hope to see some of you guys come out of the woodworks they nerfe expz and the grind is the suck, but ALOT of fun.

Hopefully by satarday we will have a vent capable of holding the entire guild and the forums set up. I will be setting up a pseduo guild bank and once I have identied a trust worthy individual that has to much time on their hands i will put them in charge of it.

And yes as hhug mentioned we decided on the name "Exiled". Omg flip flop leadership already, we are doomed!

The digital downloader was flakey. Was as in two weeks ago, it would completely stop and you'd have to start the whole download over again. You can pull the old EQ patch trick by getting someone to get you vanguard.exe and you can patch the entire game through the launcher. Seemed to work better, as if you lost connection you wouldn't have to download the whole thing over again. Takes a little bit longer doing it that way, but fuck having to download 10 plus gig from the start over and over.

Digilos linked me to a SOE Digital Download last night. Was 4 files, about 6 gigs altogether. Downloaded it all last night. Gonna install and patch after work today

The double exp weekend was great, alot of the late starters from lanys made some ground and caught up. I think we are sitting at about 20 lvl 24-30's and 20 lvl 31-40's atm.

I will be closing the door for the most part to new members but if there is any old lanys folks that definitally have the dedication but haven't started vg until recently or are about to start you are more them welcome to join here in the next week. My highest so far is 18 because I keep rerolling heavy tanks since my current choice at the time they seem to destroy with changes. Then when I go to the next one, they blow that one the fuck up as well.

Every class on my char selection screen either has seen major change, or is getting it in VG#1.

I'd love to play this but my system just won't cut it.

Im running an ath64 2800 with a 9800 pro. I think ive gotten to the point that if a game will run for me at all anymore, than its ok performance

You would be suprised what it can do on an average computer. I run my bot char on a 4 yr old computer and other then heavy traffic CIS at prime time it works fine. Doesnt look the best but its all good.

What tank you on now givin? DK's seem to be kicking ass atm post 30 but high level tanks are still rare so its hard to tell if you have a good tank or good class.

I would say up to just about 38 ive grouped with a tank in our group.....maybe .05% of the time. As a sorc i really do tank alot of the time so it doesn't matter. Thats why i love VG you can approach things differently in so many manners if you are willing to think outside of the box. We killed lvl 38-40 5 dot named in drake riders (think ToV meets plane of sky) with bard and me psi and 2 healers.

I will say this....ive had about 50 deaths in the last weekend and today because of bugged shit and it definitely makes things irrating. We wasted 3 hrs on cr's because of falling through the ground once rezzed, getting sent to graveyard when you come back from LD, faction wars gone wild and some how agro'n your group and 10 38 4 dots running at you etc. When you don't hit any of that bullshit i tell ya what this game is amazing but there is some what limited content it seems mid 30- early 40's and almost completely jack shit past that. The mid 30 dung's arent even complete or itemized correctly. We killed an extremely difficult boss that in all honesty i think 1-2 groups on the server have took down and he dropped a piece of shit item that was only limited upgrade to lvl 28 loot.

So ya.....plenty of bitches and gripes but that aside god damn this game is great and its not just one thing you can put your finger on, sigil did do alot of things right unforntately had they been able to wait 6 more months before releasing the game it would have 2X the player base right now and be the best game out there bar none. Instead we have to see if we are going to just be a medicore game which no matter what brad says will be a big failure in everyones eyes no matter if they make money or not. The thing i urge people to do is take some time and see the content that is there.....you almost feel like your doing mini raids at low lvls even though you are just 1 group. Very large scale feeling and some creative content. Once you see some of the 30+ stuff you start drooling thinking about what they are gona do to top that stuff for actual raids.

One thing I can say regarding tanks is from what I understand pally's are the best defensively (also have a bugged defensive stance giving +30% mit when it should be +15) but also have the lowest dps. The way aggro is right now, doing dmg generates more hate then actual +hate skills. So because of this DK's come out on top aggro wise, but generally have a lower defense. Warriors seem to be right in the middle currently.

That being said aggro is HARD and takes skill to keep. I may be biased because I'm playing a pally obviously and as I already mentioned they're the worst when it comes to aggro. I have my normal aggro building skills, I have an offensive reactive skill that builds hate (triggered by a crit), a skill I can use on groupmates to lower their hate and if there are mulitple mobs or I lost aggro I have to figure out who they're attacking (based on my int/wis attribute) and hit my rescues and have a couple seconds to try to regain aggro.

I'll also say that the game actually does take a lot of skill and team work to maximize dps. Skills are not simply "does 200% weapon damage". Alot of the skills give bounes based on things like if the mob is in a specific state, or if a groupmate is in a specific location.

To sum up this post, I can barely pay attention to group chat and keep all this up at the same time.

Right now i've settled on Dread Knight. Even with paladins having more mitigation right now I have found it so much easier. Ago generation is pretty important, and dreads seem to be able to keep a mobs attention better then the other two. Followed closely by warrior. My BIG gripe with warrior is how limited they feel in their defensive stance. Over half of your abilities made useless, and not in the WoW warrior sense. The base DPS needs kicked up a notch I think and they will be fine.

Currently we run with Dread, Disciple, Shaman, Psi. So far it's great. Take 4 dots 4 levels or so higher with ease if we have to, but we are more than content with grinding on 3 and 4 dots around our level.

The big thing, and probably most important aspect to being able to enjoy this game is to shed the training wheels that WoW put on us. Quests, for the most part are flavoring. Do not get a mindset about them that they will sustain you and become the main source of your leveling exp.

I hate the crafting system. I really really do. It is so annoying. Makes me wish for EQ2s old one.

Item decay is stupid also. Cheaper to have a new set made, of really good armor than keeping it repaired. Keeps crafters wallets fat, but I do not care. My armor should not be at 25% durability halfway through a populated dungeon with zero deaths and playing at A game.

This is the spiritual successor to Everquest. Make no mistake.

I've found mostly whoever is +2 lvls is MT.
+1 it's a coin toss or gear check

I don't mind being 2nd tank, havent encountered folks wanting only 1. Do decent DPS in offensive stance, and help MT manage aggro. Lots of folks still learning /assist and not to over aggro. This all around lvl 22-23.

They need to increase the +hate, and fix that damn chain reaction bug that drops you out of defensive stance. I prefer hotkeys to clicking buttons.

Noticed the last couple patches warriors haven't gotten much updated. Starting to make me think they're perfect, which they are not.
