Oh I play on full settings, I have 512 vid cards x4 (SLI 2 gigs video ram total), 4 gigs 400 ram and AMD dual core 4800+ on a ASUS A8N-SLI Nforce 4 (deluxe) motherboard.

My fps drops down to 20's in city and 50-60 out in the country.

The patching this week increased stability, graphics collision as well as an increase in fps for mid to lower end systems.

Actually its 512MB still because the graphic data must be the present entirely in every one of the 4 Graphic subsystem. So theres 4 copy of each files.

You managed to make VG run in Quad SLI with 2x 7950GX2 ? I heard people say 2 way SLI is not even working properly.

Someone tell me how to get quad SLI out of my two 7950GX2s. I can't find anywhere in my driver program to let me set it up.

Yea, Tanvu is not the place to take pictures unless you're outside of the strongholds and taking pictures of the very well done structures and inside of the houses, check out my pictures and you won't find anything dull in them, let me know if you need more examples.

I have a 3.2gig proc with a 800 fsb, 2gig of 677 ram, and a GeForce 7800gtx card. the game ran like utter shit for me even on low settings, the framerate was so choppy i coudlnt even turn around w/o lag delay. The system i run is not bad at all, i can run eq2 on high settings with minimal problems with lag and no lag what so ever on raids in wow.

The lag in Vangaurd is what did the game in the most for me.

Tweak your Vgclient.ini file, theres a LOT of gain you can go there by just changing manually a few values.

UseJoystick=False
UsePrecaching=True
ReduceMouseLag=False
UseVSync=True <---- Yes I know usually it lower the frame rate but not in this game also make sure you use tripple buffering as below.
UseTripleBuffering=True
GlobalHardwareSkinning=True

And if you have crappy onboard sound try to disable the sound
UseSound=False
If it work then you know why some people buy "real" soundcards =)

And make sure to DEFRAG you wouldn't believe how much it help with Vanguard.

-------------------------------------------
Below is for ADVANCED USERS ONLY
-------------------------------------------

Personally I use multiple hard drives (not in raid) and on each I store one of the data folder and then use NTFS Link http://www.elsdoerfer.info/ntfslink/ to create a softlink the directories so the access time to read the different data elements Maps/sound/textures etc its improved a lot...

Quote:
In short: A hard link allows you have the very same file in multiple locations in your file system, without wasting additional space. The difference to a shortcut is, that a hard link represents exactly the linked file. An application can open the file and write to it, without even knowing it is a link.
About junctions...

Hard links can only be used for files, not for directories. However, there is another, similar thing: "symbolic links" or "soft links", called "junction points" by Microsoft.
Basically, a junction is just an empty folder, with a path to the linked directory attached to it. Now when an application wants to access it, the file system driver redirects all IO operations from the junction to the link destination. The caller will not notice anything.

The patch today will revert the user.ini and the vgclient.ini so make sure you do the change after you logged in once or make a backup.

The character creation is very similar to SWG/EQ2 with the amount of optoins you can change, and facial features that can be combined to make your character look pretty unique.

I felt it was my duty when the PvP beta server went live the first day to create the most disfigured gnome I possibly could and kill peopel with it.

This was the result. Unfortunatly you cannot see her huge feet and hands, tiny everything else except her downward pointed, triple F Bazookas.

Awesome pic. Anything more than WoW has to offer in terms of character creation is always a plus. Then you have CoH/CoV where the best aspect of the game was character creation. We don't need quite that much, but something better than WoW's version is a must.

Infinitely more important, however, Hulk Hogan interviewed someone!

lol that is the first thing i noticed too, did not know given was a hulk hogan and wrestling fan :D

second thing i noticed is the first tree in the background, to the right of his gnome character. how the tree sets on the ground is... ugly. bad. wrong. like it was just pasted there, does not naturally look like it is embedded (sp) into the ground like a regular tree is.
