Very cool. Never thought to look for a lanys group =)

Shame you can't tack on nicknames to Facebook group members though. Other that the intro posts and RL names that were similar to the characters you've no idea who is who.

It's about time Facebook gave notifications for groups. Dunno about you guys but before I started getting notifications I never checked them for activity. It's a good change.

I turned the email notification off. There is a sidebar that lets you know if there are new posts in your groups when you log into FB

Ok now that it's a private group, when I click on the link above it doesn't go there.

ahh I see... I don't think I do. Because of the things I've said here over the years and the nature of my job I have kept things very separate. My students are friends on my Facebook page.

I can give my real name and location privately to someone if they want to friend me and give me the invite.

You should be able to click the link in Xan's post and click "join group" which will then ping all the group admins to allow you in.

facebook and secret groups are weird.

secret group just means that no one can see who's in it (if they're not a member)

Is the group still alive on facebook? I have to move to Germany and was thinking about all the friends that I would leave behind, one thought led to another and the people of Lanys came up. I miss picking on Dondor's man boob human paladin and great people like Pimm who was soloing the tower in Crushbone with his lvl ~20ish gnome mage and gave my humble lvl 10 eru paladin the Crushbone tunic that dropped from there...or the time that we put an elite Froglok King group together, in hopes of getting a mithril two hander sword, and a lvl 40ish gnome rogue, named Given, snuck all the way down to our elite lvl 50 group. He was invisible and none of us could see him...he said the first documented "Woot" in EQ history, was early 2000, a few months after the Lanys server opened. Miss all my Heart of the Pheonix and Mithril Web guild friends. Great times...

Anyways...is that facebook Lanys group still up?
