Howdy,

I was asked a question at work today that I struggled to answer but thought Lanys could probably handle.

What is the best gaming mag out there for a 17 year old mostly interested in the xbox 360 platform?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Official Xbox Magazine is the best out there.

That was my immediate response as well. I guess this is specifically what was asked for. The kid is my coworker's wife's little brother so he is hoping to deliver. You'd think there has to be a viable option out there - I just have no idea what it is.

*edit*
Thanks Neesha!

Amazon has some good deals on cheap subscriptions pretty often. I got a 1-year subscription to that (with the included discs) for $5. Good toilet reading.

Nothing beats the internet information-wise, but you can definitely find some better presentation depending on the magazine. Occasionally you'll get some nice exclusives, such as interviews which don't get posted online(at least until it's in print and someone else does).

When I'm in Barnes and Noble wasting time, one of the magazines I usually grab is Electronic Gaming Monthly. They just restarted after a hiatus.

EGM isn't too bad.. Dan "Shoe" Hsu is old school at least. I've been reading PC Gamer more recently. I've also found that Game Informer, which I felt started out to be utter dog crap, has improved significantly IMO.

Yeah Game Informer, which used to just be Gamestop promotional material, has actually turned into a pretty-good magazine.

Have any links for these good promotions? Not that I expect any would be valid in Canada...
