GU released his 10th Anniversary Comic:

his comics have gotten a bit more Woody and Ted recently with a bit of gaming news thrown in...I still get a chuckle from his work.

Too bad his readership is fading much like it has here.

Yah, the entire gaming world needs a stimulus package...one that works that is lol...even the gaming comics are getting tired out.

The gaming world that we were used to is fading. But the gaming world as a whole is stronger than ever.

I read GU fairly regularly but the soapbox rants from time to time, I'm not a fan of.

I met Woody a few years ago at a ConnectiCon, and Hypnotized his Girlfriend in my show. :cyclopsani:
She turned out to be a very good subject.
He was a pretty nice guy.

What does he rant about? I don't read GU, so I have no idea.

Activision and EA fairly regularly (granted some of it is deserved) and it's not uncommon to see some very strong opinions on games he's spent very little time with.

All that said, his comics are quite often very good.

This is from Woody today:

Speaking of something significant having to happen...
I think I'm done with GU. I'm working harder and harder but the numbers are still dropping. I'm so stressed I've got to be cutting years off my life. I mean, look at this week alone, I'm struggling to get comics done in advance of what should be a relaxing time away from stuff but as of this morning I was actually considering NOT GOING on vacation with my family. How is that okay? And what would I have gotten out of it? Watching the numbers slide some more? At this point I'm not sure exactly when GU's last day is, but it will be before the year is out. And, I'm seriously considering a week from today, GU's 12 anniversary.

I hate that GU is possibly floating towards the Zapper but 12 years is a long time for a WebComic. With the gaming world sputtering like it is, I can see how difficult it would be for them to continue. With GU making it 12 years should say something about the quality that Woody has with GU Comics.

Fine with me, GU jumped the shark a while ago. Both GU and PVP have both outlived their funny.

That phrase iritates me.. it means something it has nothing to do with.

The episode was halfway through the viewing lifetime of Happy days.

If the phrase really meant what it intends. then the show wold have ended shortly after. It didn't; it went on MUCH longer, for years after.

That might be what happened, but that's not what the phrase means. :p Hooray for colloquialisms!

Quote:
For a show that in its early seasons depicted universally relatable experiences against a backdrop of 1950s nostalgia, this marked an audacious, cartoonish turn towards attention-seeking gimmickry and continued the faddish lionization of an increasingly superhuman Fonzie. The series continued for nearly five years after that, with a number of changes in cast and situations. However, it is commonly believed that the show, out of ideas and even trapped in its own success (largely due to the disproportionate popularity of the "Fonzie" character and the show's (executives') intense desire to continue "milking" that), began a downhill slide, becoming a caricature of itself often filled with little more than its popular catch phrases and character mannerisms.

And yes, I've seen every episode of Happy Days. It was hard not to when you grew up in a family who loved that show. The show WAS really good up until that point, then it became pretty terrible.
