I need to upgrade my music system for my Hypnosis Show. A way to control my music.

Right now, I use a Peavy Escort 2000 as my base sound system. That part is fine.

My problem is, up until last night, I was using a DVD player with a remote to do my music. It worked OK, but, not great. Last night, the DVD player died after 6 years of service, and I am looking to upgrade. I could get another DVD player, but, it is not that great. I need something that works a little faster.

According to the website, it works with a current iPod Classic, or a "previous generation" Nano 3G or Nano 4G. I have no idea what 3G or 4G is, and was wondering if this one I found at the Apple Store are the right one?

The list price is $107 for the sound control, and this looks like my best bet so far.

Another option is a unit called iCue2 Virtual Soundman It seems to be out of stock, but, gives you an idea of what I am looking for.

Is there other options you can suggest that might help me? All I really need is a remote music playing unit for a few songs that I can control and put through my main sound system.

I am deciding between a IPod Nano or Touch.
Due to the screen size, the Touch is winning.

I know almost nothing about IPods and Apps.

Is there a way to make a large display for the screen so I know what track it is? Number/Color maybe? Something I can see from across the room when I am doing my show?
