If you have a Domain Name that matches a web search, would that come up higher in rankings?

For example, If I bought the Domain Name www.CTHypnotist.com and then had it redirect to my regular website, would it come up more often in searches when someone put in "CT Hypnotist" In Google or some other search engine?

(Already Checked, someone owns CT Hypnotist, but, I have other ideas to use.)

I am redoing my whole website, cleaning it up and making it less cluttered. I am just looking for ideas to help me get traffic.

Thank you in advance.
-Worthy.

Nope.

Make good use of meta tags for that.

Actually that depends on the search engine. Yahoo and Ask! do place matching domain names higher in the record. Google (really the only search engine that matters) does not.

Generally speaking Worthy, it's better to actually use the domain name rather than some other website like from your ISP or something. Web hosting accounts can be set up cheap, and as long as you know how to use FTP it's not that hard.

Bottom line on web searches is to get as many people as possible to link to you, or pay for placement. That is the only way to get your traffic up.

First thing - start a Wikipedia article about yourself.

Then, search for the keywords you want your site to come under, and then visit those sites and see if you can get them to link to you.

starting a wiki article about yourself creates a lot of heartache when you keep getting deleted due to lack of notoriety.

He might actually survive that if he includes the links/content about his having been on tv shows. I seem to recall his being on Sally JesseWTF's show? Or am I mistaken?

Have someone else post your bio on Wiki. They do not allow autobiographies, so to speak.
