I just want to share the latest HTC phone we are getting in the Summer. I don't usually rave or even care about our phones but this one looks pretty hot.

http://now.sprint.com/evo/?ECID=vanity:evo

HTC EVO 4G Features:
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, ensuring a smooth and quick user experience
  • Dual cameras – an 8.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder and a forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera – unleashing the ability to create, stream and watch video that far surpasses expectations of what is possible on a phone today.
  • Built-in mobile hotspot functionality that allows up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices to share the 4G experience, so users can easily share an Internet connection on the go with a laptop, camera, music player, game unit, video player, or any other Wi-Fi-enabled device.
  • Integrated HD video capture and 4G speeds, making slow uploads and grainy video a thing of the past. It will be possible to post high-quality video to YouTube or Facebook, share moments in real time over the Internet live via Qik, or share them on an HDTV via an HDMI cable (sold separately).
  • Custom Web browser optimized for HTC EVO 4G’s large display and Sprint 4G speeds to deliver a full, no-compromise Internet experience. Adobe Flash technology ensures rich Internet content, such as embedded video and animation, are displayed the way they are meant to be seen. Pinch-to-zoom and automatic text reflowing provide easy Web page views.
  • New features of Sense on HTC EVO 4G include Friend Stream, which aggregates multiple social communication channels, including Facebook,
  • Twitter and Flickr into one organized flow of updates; a “Leap” thumbnail view to easily switch between home screen “panels;” the ability to download new, interactive widgets; and a “polite” ringer, which quiets the ringing phone once it is lifted up.

just wanted to share :o

Palm will be out of business in a year or two, enjoy them while you can.

Palm may go out of business, but WebOS won't die -- someone will buy it and use it. It's the most valuable piece of IP that Palm has.

I got to use a Palm Pre during my internship it was pretty dang nice, made me want to get one especially after using the Shitberry Storm. I still haven't used an android phone but that HTC looks pretty nice.

I have a Palm Pre current and love it its a nice simple smart phone real easy to use.

Well see if Palm dies they are releasing the Pre plus and Pixi Plus to all major carriers this year. At&t and T-mobile.

The pre plus and pixi plus aren't going to solve palm's financial problems.

Sounds awesome, my big question would be... Does it have Wifi connectivity so I can make phone calls on skype using my home ISP? Hate having bad cell reception in my place.

Garborg: I don't know but being Google Base OS i bet theirs a App for it.

Vanamar: I can agree Palm should have released on all major carriers when they put out the pre right off the bat I don't think this will save them but oh well. Well see I love my Pre!

Fribur: I think the only way this phone will be on boost is if you buy it off contract from sprint and get them to unlock it.

Sprint doesn't really like admitting that boost is part of their network.

Cak, you work for Sprint? Small world - I did too until the Ericsson mess happened. I'm still with them, in Sprint's COM department.

By the way, I have since changed my tune. I'll probably be getting an Evo in a few months when I'm up for an upgrade. :P

My question is this: is the batterly life on that as hysterically laughable as the HTC Incredible? People charging their phone 2 and 3 times a freaking day...is just silly.

I love the Pre (especially the homebrew stuff/patches), but there are some annoyances (like sliding the face up and the phone not turning on). I've heard/read nothing but glowing things about the Evo so I figure when I am due for an upgrade, I may as well do so since I have a feeling the Pre is going to break on me sometime soon. Although the smart move would be to hold out until the next big thing comes out next year. But we all know I'm not known for doing the smart thing.

Nothing but glowing things (except the battery lasts an hour)

Battery life sucks on my Pre as well (and on pretty much every smart phone other than the 6 or 7 "magical" ones that some people claim to have).
