I've been tinkering with the idea of dumping my cable provider and getting all my HD programming off the internet. I figure some of you have done this or tried it and I'm wondering if there are any pitfalls I should be aware of. The only possible problem that comes to mind is the fact that I'd be downloading ALOT of programming and my ISP might have issues with that.

Are there good sites for HD movies/tv...aside from torrents? Are these sites free or membership? What kind of fees might I expect to pay? Other stuff I need to know?

The only (legitimate) way to do this, right now, is to either buy shows off itunes or watch the shows on hulu or the networks site.

Let me rephrase.

Do Canada's internet providers cap bandwidth in such a way as to make exclusive HDTV viewing over the internet impractical unless you plan to watch very little television?
