Look at the computer screen to the left of the reporter about even with his ear.

Your idea of porn is a lot different than mine.

Unfortunately the pictures aren't too revealing, but the banker did manage to keep his job after quite a bit of positive publicity was generated on his behalf.

That has to be doctored.... isn't it?

Who the hell does that at work? If you're working in a small shop... but in a bank?

A hell of a lot more people than you think.

Porn and facebook, dude. I don't get it. But then, people would say the same thing about the fact I stop by lanys while at work.

You realize, of course, that doing other stuff doesn't automatically equal "inefficient". For some people, this is true, but they were never truly inclined to do the actual work anyway. If it wasn't the internet, it'd be the water cooler.

There's a lot of people out there that see their jobs as being as much about avoiding work as doing it. Given that, it's less about the fact of what they are doing...just that they never had a work ethic to begin with.

But there are also people that are quite adept at multitasking their day and still being top performers in their job.

I'd say 25 billion web pages with nearly everything about anything at the click of a button sort of trumps the water cooler for distraction potential.

There are definitely exceptions to the rule, but even a few seconds worth of distraction can set a person back minutes in time. I'll agree it depends on the person, and more importantly how long they're spending actually doing it. I view anything more than 5 minutes as a potentially serious loss in productivity, but that's just me. For my job, that would be another sale or at the very least a lead to one.

Probably depends on the person for that one. Strong-minded and well-disciplined individuals who don't lose concentration easily probably won't need that, and will use that time in the same efficient manner they had been using it whether they take a break or not. Personally I don't even take lunch breaks anymore and I feel like I could go another 6 hours when the end of the day starts coming around.

Admittedly it also does depend on the job. Some will have a degree of mental fatigue where a break or two may be optimal.
