We all get things we need or want, but, some things are pretty special to us.

For example, money is a bit tight for me right now, but, I found the BABYLON 5 Series on Sale at Walmart for less than $20 a season for all 5 seasons. I just got the first one at the store, and will get the rest online as I get the extra money because it is even cheaper. (For some reason the first season is more expensive online.)

Looking at getting a 42" 1080P 120hz TV really don't care on brand but needs to be below $1000.00 found quite a few below that price point just need to choose on one!

Thought about this too. I've got a 42" plasma currently and man that thing eats electricity.

Cuc, that's absolutely brilliant. Good find!
Blackadder in particular is classic Hugh Laurie (before House fame), as well as Rowan Atkinson in a character much more enjoyable than the idiotic Mr. Bean.
"I have a cunning plan" - classic, hahaha.

If you haven't already been hooked on it, you'd probably enjoy Little Britain as well.

The things I want, money can't buy. So no gifts this year for me.

Just buying everyone in the family a magazine subscription. I started it last year- inexpensive, and keeps on giving throughout the year.

PS3, got the one from Best Buy with a couple games.

Was going to get a TV but I won a 40 inch Sharp in a raffle last month.

I found Hugh Laurie to be pretty funny in Jeeves and Wooster, also had Stephen Fry

I bought a house that may be pre-WWI back in October, anyways with all the additions on it over the last 70-100 years, it has turned out to be a big chore renovating.

I started with the idea to rip the old bathroom out to make more room in the kitchen and put in a proper bathroom in the porch addition. I am quite sure the house was built before indoor plumbing was available so it was kinda cramped anyways.

What I thought would take me a few nights over the course of 2 weeks or so has dragged on as one can of worms keeps leading to another can of worms. I will be done redoing the wiring this weekend I hope. There was actually some knob & tube up in the attic and some other wiring that was in some pretty sad shape.

Also I should be done with the plumbing too, all new and I decided to go with the new style pex, it sure is a lot easier to work with compared to copper.

So my Christmas present to myself will be moving into this old house by Christmas.

(oh and maybe I should count my Kindle too, its a nice little gift)

Being single with no kids, I get to buy myself whatever lol..

Will likely be a new computer since the one I have is an elderly 4 years old, a new Glock 19 or a new older model 120Hz LCD. The plasma I have right now is a monster on power consumption.

That's like telling a beer drinker to "show a little class" by drinking Miller Lite instead of Bud Lite.

Back on topic and a bit more serious. We are going to do something different this year. We are giving to Living Water International (http://www.water.cc/).

They are doing something for what has been a concern of mine - clean water.

Quote:
The World Bank offers a range of cost estimates to reach MDG goals. They estimate the cost of reaching “basic levels of coverage…in water and sanitation” to be $9 billion at the low end, and $30 billion a year for “achieving universal coverage” for water and sanitation. The same report acknowledges that the “institutional arrangements” do not exist to reach the goal in any case, and concludes that, “taking these estimates and their caveats together, we estimate that the cost… is between $5 and $21 billion.”

In the US alone we spend $40 Billion on Christmas.

Maybe we can help a little here.

In the past couple months I bought myself a PS3 and more video games than I've bought in the past few years, so I'm good for buying things for myself for a while.

Except for maybe some books to fill up my expected Kindle, but I may take advantage of Amazon's video game trade-in program to build up some credit for those.

however there are only so many variations on a theme that you can deal with. working for a hosting company that caters to the adult industry got old after 3 years.

I want to get myself a SLR camera, but I can't bring myself to spend the money for something I know I'll probably lose interest in. I want to buy a keyboard, but I hate spending the money.

In summary, I want a bunch of shit, but I'm too cheap.

Digital SLR cameras in any range have a great Ebay sellback value

I purchased an Nikon D40 and upgraded the body to a D60 and resold the original body for about $350.00 on ebay and the new body cost me the same.

I only bought myself a couple things this year.

Panasonic Viera 32" LCD TV and matching Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu Ray player for the bedroom. I already have a DMP-BD80 blu ray player for the living room and chose the Panasonics over other brands for a couple of reasons. 1: Remote for both without having to program shit into it and 2: I can take the SDHC card out of any of my AVCHD HD Video cameras and pop it right into the SDHC slot on the Blu-Ray and it will play the movie. Great stuff IMHO.

A new bed (desperately) and maybe some flogging molly tickets.

The stupid venue doesn't have seating though.. and I'm fucking old.

There are 3 bands I want to see in concert:
Weezer, White Stripes (heh, good luck) and Flogging Molly.

Last year, we had the whole tickemaster problem with the house of blues show in Cleveland.. this year, they are in Cincinnati, but at a shitty venue. I dunno.
