Hollywood has come out with a lot of crap lately.

What do you think would make a good movie?

Any thoughts on how it may be done?

Here is a couple I would like to see.

Quote:
MECHWARRIOR

I think they should do 2 movies at the same time.
First one just to establish everything, then, the second one to bring in the clans. Open the second movie one month after the first one is released.

Image

On a side note, they are going to be giving away free versions of MW4 soon. More info on that HERE. It is a way to get people excited about the new version of MechWarrior that is coming out.

Quote:
EverQuest

They need to do an EverQuest movie.
It might bring people back to the game.
The battle of Kith forrest would be cool.
One way I see them doing it would be doing a half dozen hour or so TV movies that introduce the major characters, then the movie brings them all together.

Quote:
Mighty Max
I liked this cartoon a long time ago.
I think it would make a fun movie.

Thats a few of my ideas.
Your turn.

District 9 definitely showed that computer cgi has gotten to the point that a mech movie could be done and done in a believable fashion.

Oh, and: Kill the Bride

That would be where the little black girl from Kill Bill 1 gets revenge for her mother.

Then, I want all 3 movies put together into 1, released on Blu Ray, and called: The Bride.

Yep. That would do.

I think a set of movies based on the Pendragon Cycle by Stephen Lawhead would be pretty neat. If you are unfamiliar, it's a set of books that mix the Arthur legends and the Atlantis legends into one very good story. They are some of the best books I've ever read.

One, or even two movies would not do Mechwarrior any justice.

They would have to do three, and break it up as either the Warrior trilogy, or the Blood of Kerensky trilogy.

Even then with three movies; I doubt you would get the proper feel and depth.

I don't know if I would like to see Lucas do it but, I would love to see the remaining Star Wars canon on film. To my understanding there are 3 more chapters?

The Legend of Zelda
Secret Wars (Comic)
Final Fantasy IV (2 US SNES)

Seinfeld (Why not, they made Sex in the City and the Simpsons)

When they began making Tolkein stuff and Chronicles of Narnia, that was my biggest hope.

I want to see a movie evolve from one genre to another. Like a Romantic Comedy that turns into a slasher flick.

People get really bitter when that happens. I'd point to Event Horizon as an example. Total left turn at a certain point in the movie and man, people still bitch about it to this day. :p

From Dusk till Dawn kind of did that, and it was awesome. It'd kind of depend on where you started and what you transitioned to, I think.

I think the difference is most likely that the trailers for Event Horizon didn't give away the transition, but everyone knew Dusk til Dawn was a vampire flick going into it.

To me, it ruins any power of the transition if you know it is going to happen. I *loved* Event Horizon for the "oh wow, we just took a left turn into hellraiser" moment that came out of nowhere. heh. I like it when movies surprise me. Prior to that moment, I was convinced the story was going to about how the ship was sentient and treating the people like a virus.

I definitely have a love/hate relationship with FDtD.

When I first started watching it, I thought it would be your typical gangster flick. When the vampires showed up, I was blown away, annoyed, and enthralled all at the same time.

And yeah, 99% of people hate that.

I always wanted to see a horror movie where some bad guy abuses the victims for the first half and then the movie takes a weird turn and introduces a much worse bad guy that destroys the first one. That'd be fun. You could do a traditional stalker psychopath flick for a while and then all of a sudden, BAM, Hellraiser!

I Spit On Your Grave is a revenge flick, right? Isn't that the one where a girl is chain raped for like the first half hour?

Yeah. Revenge flicks of any kind are great because you can enjoy the carnage without feeling bad for the 'victims' of said carnage. Which is pretty much any Nazi movie where the Nazis get it...and why I can't wait to see Glorious Basterds!

Yeah it is, and yes revenge movies are great for that. Those two flicks plus basically any 70s-80s Italian horror movie make me laugh when folks call things like Hostel extreme.

Dragonlance (done properly, and not as a horrific 2d-comic with voice overs like what they released recently) and the Dark Elf trilogy, please.

Skimming YouTube, saw this. That would have a better chance of being cool than the other Toymovies.

One of my very favorite books/stories is The Long Walk by Stephen King; I think it would be an interesting movie.
