If you haven't heard of her, here's the summary:
Info-babe for ESPN was filmed nude through a peep-hole (or so it's reported). ESPN and others went nuts, damning the gross violation of her rights. Story starts to die down, she just made a 911 call, which is laughable.



"I've been in the news recently about being in a hotel naked."
"I'm all over the news right now."
"I'm the girl who was taped without her knowing without her clothes on"
"I've done nothing wrong and I'm being treated like fucking Brittany Spears!"

Here's the thing - if someone REALLY did tape her without her knowing, then she has been horribly violated, but I can't believe it for a second.

First off, if you watch the video - the camera keeps moving. I am not an expert in pin hole cameras, but I can't imagine it would be so mobile. I'm guessing this is a guy with a phone camera or something, and I have to think he is in the room with her.

Second, they found out the guy who uploaded it... and then the story died. This tells me ESPN lost its enthusiasm... making me think it links back to a boyfriend or something.

Third, the video is horrible - you can't even tell it's her. Meaning had they simply ignored it - story goes away. Seriously, you can't even make out a nipple hardly. There is 1 cut where she walks right up to the camera, then it ends.

Fourth, she somewhat "plays" for the camera.

Finally -
This 911 call makes me laugh. Simply call and say "people are stalking me outside my house, they are trespassing, and won't leave." Done. She comes across as a completely self-absorbed twit.

Maybe my empathy has dried up, but I have this hunch we will eventually find out she was behind the whole thing.

it is suspicious... but she isn't bad looking and I don't mind the thought of seeing her naked... however she could lose the fake pinhole stuff.

At first, I was a little torn. If it really was a stalker, then I feel terrible for her. But, the 911 call really washed away any sympathy. Nothing says "class" like playing the "don't you know who I am" card.

Even if she really is a 100% victim, I would think she could address the situation a little more intelligently than playing the self-absorbed-woe-is-me angle.

I am going to assume that the hotel thing was not setup with knowledge by her. I am going to assume that it was indeed a serious violation of her privacy, and that whomever was doing it was doing so without her consent. Having said that...

Erin Andrews is constantly harrassed by fans while she is on the sidelines. There are many stories out there about her being groped by male college students as she patrols the college basketball sidelines... of males using their camera phones to take pictures of her ass while she is on the sidelines... of male college students trying to flirt and get a date (and you can only imagine what comes out of male college students trying to score with a woman)... etc. You can google a search to read about the plethora out there. So already this is a woman who is simply trying to do her job- be a sideline reporter for NCAA football, NCAA basketball and NCAA baseball. All she wants is respect- and yet basically everyone outside of ESPN and "serious" sports networks/stations/shows looks at her as a sex object.

So then we hear about the video of her in the hotel. And I am sure that put her beyond the breaking point, if she had not already reached it before with all the prior "minor" incidents. So this woman feels violated, she feels used, she feels hurt and majorly pissed off. She wants to take some time away, she wants to clear her mind... and then there are people stalking her house. Won't leave.

What do you think is going through her mind? More potential video tapes? More college students wanting a piece of her? Something way more serious- which, as we all know, there are people out there capable of such things?

I am sure her mind was not/is not in the right frame of mind, so to speak. I am sure she has a bunch of crap on her plate right now, and for someone in her position to have stalkers not even 2-3 weeks after a media blown internet video of her nude has been talked about everywhere (but ESPN)... I am sure she wasn't thinking straight.

I really hope that she can be left alone. Not only for her safety, but so that she can go back to being a professional sideline reporter for ESPN. However, I wonder about her mind, her psyche after all of this... and if she ever can go back to the sidelines. Maybe they just need to give her a station job or something, like co-anchor on Sportscenter or do one of the specialty shows like First Take or whatever. But to say that she is a "moron" caused she was playing the "celebrity" card- after everything that has just happened with the hotel incident and all the prior incidents in the past several years- is not fair and right.

Again, this assumes the hotel incident was a violation and she had no prior knowledge or consent in it...

BTW- Erin Andrews "does it" for me. Has the qualities I like in my women. And no, I won't see the nude video because... well... I just don't think it would be "right". Sue me /shrug

I didn't see her doing this at all. She was upset and made a comment on who she was to 911. What was she supposed to do? "I have 2 paparazzi at my house, please send cops" and be done? What if she did that, then the 911 operator said "are you famous or something?" and she responded saying she was Erin Andrews, who had been in the news for being filmed naked in a hotel room? THEN would it have been ok? I just assume she was at her wit's end and volunteered the information in advance because she didn't know what else to do. She has absolutely nothing to gain by faking all of this for publicity.

I think she certainly has a lot to gain. She has gone from being a middle-of-the-road sportscaster to more of a household name. I could see this being parlayed into a movie or TV show or something. We'll see.

And yes - she could have handled it differently. She lives in a "gated community" according to her. Um, doesn't that mean they have security? Couldn't she have called them? Or, she works for ESPN - I think they could give her some guidance. If she felt she must call 911 - all she had to say is, "I live in a secure community and someone is trespassing, sitting outside my house, and trying to look in my windows."

Maybe I'm too jaded. Maybe she's just a twit.

She was never a middle of the road sportscaster, as you so eloquently put it. Her name has been out there for several years- Playboy put her as sexiest sportscaster for 2008 and 2009 (or maybe 2007 and 2008, I dunno)... she has the nickname "Erin Pageviews" because you put her name on your site and your site gets thousands more hits than it would have w/o her name/pic up there... she may not be the best at what she does, but she was pretty darn popular before this whole hotel incident.

The hotel incident got her name out there to non sports fans. Sports fans knew more than enough of her beforehand to qualify her as "famous" in the world of sports casting...

I didn't know who she was until this... but after watching the video and how she admires her own ass.. and see that she wears tight pants that highlight her ass.... Dress more professionally and you'll be treated that way.

But for those of you who watched the video...why did you do that? I mean, okay she doesn't do anything for me personally. But if someone had a nude video of ...Nathan Fillion...taken without his permission in such a skeevy manner...I wouldn't watch it. I wouldn't even watch it for curiosity's sake. It's SUCH a violation of someone's personal privacy I wouldn't want to see it and be a party to that violation.

Now if he were nude on a nude beach and someone took a video, fuck yes. Or if the Megan Fox washing the car video gets out, I'm watching that shit. But that's quite different in that there's no expectation of true privacy in either one.

But when you don't even know a camera is there? Maybe it's a female thing, but it turns my stomach. I'm just wondering if any of the guys feel this way at all

I heard that watching it or posessing it is a crime... so I certainly have not done either! If I were to download it, it would be for curiosity. There is so much porn out there that you can easily find someone hotter and willing to stick a plunger up their ass (if that's your thing), but there's the tease of getting a peek at someone familiar. That's the reason for the popularity. For example, most people wouldn't admit it, but if the neighbor's wife is even reasonably attractive, most people would prefer to see her naked vs. some supermodel. It's why strip teases are more appealing than dropping pants and banging for most people.

Think about the obsession with celebrity nudity. Halle Berry (sp?) and the lady from Weeds for example. They are attractive, but not OMG HOT (imo). But, it's that reveal that's the turn-on. Same reason why people sometimes cheat with less attractive, less interesting people.

For some reason, I've been spinning on this subject all day. On one hand, I feel bad for her. On the other, this whole thing feels so wildly contrived. For example, if someone was really peeking, couldn't they do better than just her curling hair? I dunno.... maybe I'm too harsh, I'm just not buying it.

As far as publicity, she has already been asked to do Dancing With the Stars and turned it down (last year). She has been offered god knows how much money to be in Playboy and she has turned it down. If she wanted to get her name out there more, wouldn't she have done Dancing With the Stars when she was given the chance? Wouldn't that do more for her career than a 911 call and a peep hole video?

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A man accused of taping ESPN sports reporter Erin Andrews in the nude through hotel peepholes and posting the videos online will plead guilty to a federal stalking charge, according to a court document filed Thursday.

Color me surprised. Since it sounds like it was a predator, I do feel bad for her (as I mentioned multiple times above). Throw the book at the guy as far as I'm concerned.

I will take this opportunity to talk about how people who put themselves out there as a sex symbol, tabloid fodder, etc, certainly don't DESERVE being harassed, but I don't want to hear them lament it either.

So yeah, the guy should be beaten within an inch of his life, but this is what you get when you make your living off titilating people.

Well, define "harassed." Completely out of context of this story, too. We can agree that filming the chick through a peephole and posting that shit online is obviously harassment, illegal, wrong, yada yada yada.

But you might have noticed that "harassed" gets thrown around all too easily, and is generally synonymous with flirting where the only difference is how attractive the "harasser" is to the "harassed."

However, let's not pretend that Erin Andrews is a frontline sportscaster because she is specifically talented in that area. She's there because she's hot. Is she good - maybe. But, the world is flooded with non-hot people who want to be sportscasters who are very good.

If she had short, mono-colored hair, was 30 pounds heavier, and had twice the talent, she would not have this job.

That's not meant to say she deserves grief, but when you put on the hot orange shorts, men are gonna smack your ass. That doesn't mean the guy smacking your ass is right, but if you don't want it to happen, go to school to be an accountant.
