Just tried to post this as a reply in the announcements forum (and in fact I did, once upon a time), but didn't seem to have privileges. Sorry if this thread is misplaced.

I just wanted to sound a request for feed integration with these here forums. I'm a little bit of a feed junkie, and forums are prime real estate for that sort of thing.

I'd be happy to find a suitable plugin (of which I'm certain there are many) if feeds aren't a feature native to PHPBB3, if that helps. (I'd also be happy to install it if you'd like ... but I assume you'd not like. )

Anyone else like the sound of this idea?

RSS Feeds are one of those things I never really got into for no good reason.

Well last night I "discovered" them and decided that they make sense for me since I'm such a fan of the F5 key on certain websites.

I'm using IE8 at the moment, and once I subscribe to the feeds, right now it's not updating automatically, which to me kind of ruins the point of the feeds. Anyone got any idea why they aren't? In the properties for the feeds, I have them set to refresh every 15 minutes.

I fixed it the easy way-- installed Firefox and the Brief extension for Firefox and everything works great.

I don't know if I'm going to use it for Lanys though-- I don't know if I like that it doesn't mark forums as read on this site.

Sage used to be a good RSS reader for Firefox, dunno if it's still around or better than Brief.

I'm really liking Brief so far; I'm still learning what it's like to use RSS feeds for the first time, heh, so the added simplicity is great to me!

Myrtle: Care to send up seperate feeds for each forum?
