Are the actual divorce papers signed? Or did you just get one of those military assisted/prepared dissolution papers? Cause, my ex tried to get a lawyer and state(after she signed them and agreed with 3 months of email trail modifications and agreements on the terms) that she was forced to sign them under duress... You wont find any more security than when the actual paperwork has been put into the actual court system. Good luck!

All of the paperwork is filed in the courthouse already. We just have to wait 6 months and 1 day before the final form (FL 800) can be sumbitted. Once that is submitted, it is officially over and then we are each mailed a copy of the dissolution.

I'm not paying alimony...I am paying the bills that we each brought into (and created within) the marriage, which I will have paid off in two years (easily). I figured paying those bills would be a lot less painful than having to pay that woman ailmony for the rest of her life, because I am 99% certain she will never marry again. All she needs is yarn...men really need not apply. :p

And, as a prior-Enlisted naval officer with nearly 16 years in...I do OK.
